Why am i still hungry on Phentermine?

It is normal for obese patients to feel hunger, during the first few days of using Phentermine weight loss tablets. In this period, the body will adapt to the pharmacological action of the drug and may demand consuming the former amount of food by inertia.

Why am i still hungry on Phentermine

In the future, Phentermine weight loss tablets should effectively reduce hunger and body weight, and accelerate metabolism. If obese patient doesn’t eat enough food, he may feel hunger.

When using Phentermine, hunger does not mean that we should suffer in silence or run to a fast food restaurant and fill our stomach with all the food you find. Brain gives the same signal, when either of the following substances lacks: fats, proteins, carbohydrates and various trace elements. Therefore, to effectively satisfy hunger, the patient may be advised to change his diet plan.

If obese patient consumes a proper amount of all elements, required by the organism, he will not feel hungry. The right balance of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and micronutrients allows the body to fully function and reduce body weight.

When using Phentermine weight loss tablets, you should remember the main thing. You should reduce your weight without harming your health. You should not starve, when you use Phentermine. Malnutrition can be as harmful, as overeating, and it can harm your organism.

When using Phentermine weight loss tablets, most patients can consume as many calories, as necessary for normal body functioning and gradual weight loss. If the patient feels hunger, he can be recommended to:

  • Drink more water. Water contains no calories, fills the stomach and helps reduce appetite. If you drink cold water, your organism will expend more calories for its heating and excretion from the body.
  • Abandon appetite-stimulating products, coffee, alcohol and pickles. You should also limit salt and spices.
  • It is recommended to eat slowly, to chew food thoroughly. It should be remembered that satiety does not come immediately. It may come, regardless of how much food the person consumed.
  • Divide your meals in 4-5 times a day. This simple rule will allow eating small portions and reduce the total number of calories per day.

Hunger can also occur, when the organism changes its tolerance to weight loss tablets Phentermine. It may be advised to increase Phentermine dosage for such patients. It should be remembered that it is impossible to take more than 37.5 mg Phentermine per day.

Some patients may be advised to take half a Phentermine pill twice a day. This category may include patients, whose appetite decreases in the first half of the day and increases in the second half. It should be noted that such a method of using Phentermine weight loss tablets increases the risk of such side effect, as insomnia.

If Phentermine tablets are not contraindicated to you, you can get a prescription for these weight loss tablets from the doctor. After you get the prescription for Phentermine, you will be able to buy them under the trade name Ionamin.

Thanks for the post! Helped me answer few questions I had. I though Phentermine was not working for me. Now I see I just have to wait a couple of days and it might start working.

Read the post, very useful info. Still hesitate to start taking Phentermine 37.5 to lose weight. It’s a bit expensive for me and I am not sure if it will work right. If I do buy it, should I start taking one whole pill a day, or may be half a pill? I mostly get hungry in the evening. Not hungry at all in the morning, so I never have breakfast. Yet, dinners are large and I can’t change the situation on my own. Any suggestions, opinions?

Hey, Sarah. I can understand your doubts. However, this is such a situation when you can’t know until you try. Tell me, do you have a lot of extra weight? It’s really difficult to judge or advice anything without knowing the base and what you are dealing with. Tell me what you prefer eating, what makes your weight go up. Let’s start with these steps.

Hi. Decided to give it a try. Taking Phentermine for the 2nd day. Not feeling any changes, still feel hungry in the evening. A bit more energy, but not a burst, as many people say. What am I doing wrong?

Lisa Blake

Hey, Sarah. Two days might not be enough time to make any conclusions. If you re-read the post above, you will see that the effects might take some time to develop. Yet, you say that you already do feel more energy. Try being more attentive to your feelings, when you decide to go and grab something to eat. You might not be hungry, but thirsty instead. Our body isn’t always capable of telling us clearly what it wants at the moment: food or water. Next step is to try and take your Phentermine pill somewhere around 11 AM. This might… Read more »

Hi. Taking Phentermine for 7 weeks already. Thanks for advice and support. Just starting to exercise. I think I do need it to lose weight faster. For now, I can say that I don’t feel hungry at all. Appetite suppressing effect came on 4 day of Phentermine 37.5 administration. Lost 21 pound so far. I think it’s a good result, but I need to lose more.

Thank you for sharing that. I have been on it for 2 days and was feeling discouraged because my appetite seemed to increase instead of decrease. Maybe if I keep at it for a bit it will start to level out and work in the way it is supposed to.

My biggest wish, however, is that you don’t have to get back to weight loss progress ever again. I wish you that your weight always stays at the healthy level after you lose weight this time. Hello Phentermine Fan. Nice to hear this appetite suppressant works great for you, but I really don’t like the fact that you have been starving for 3 days already. I can understand the fact that you aren’t feeling hungry and want to lose weight as fast as possible, but you shouldn’t do it at the expense of your own health. You might not be feeling it now, but soon your body will suffer from the lack of any nutrients it needs for a normal functioning. Hi Lisa Blake, finished my 12-week Phentermine journey. Lost 53 pounds. A couple more would be nice, but I am still very satisfied. Followed your advice 3 months ago and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I actually continued starving for 2 more days, but the stomach pain brought me back to the ground and I read what you told me, and did like you said. So I ate in small portions. Without Phentermine I would be swallowing large amounts of food, 5-6 times a day. But it helped me switch to very small serving size.… Read more »

Hello Phentermine Fan. Thank you very much for dropping in after you finished your course. WOW! What a great result! Congratulations! I am very happy that Phentermine helped you lose so much weight AND change your eating behavior. Best of luck to you on maintaining your weight after weight loss. It can be hard, yet you’re already at the point where you can’t give in to old habits, which don’t add anything to your body, but the fat. Good luck and hope on never seeing you again on weight loss sites looking for an advice. wink) Take care

Hello, ChrisKhole. Thank you for posting this question. First of all, it is good if you try to listen more carefully to your body and check whether you really have no appetite suppression effect after Phentermine. Remember, every person is different and you might notice the effect a little later during the day. As for dry mouth and surge of energy. Not every person gets these effects, so if you don’t have them it doesn’t mean that Phentermine doesn’t work right. Please, avoid taking the pill in the evening since you might have insomnia. If you want to take ½… Read more »

So i take phentermine for a completely different reason. I have an attention deficit issue. I do not get any of the weight loss symptoms the drug is usually prescribed for. You have to remember that every person’s chemical make up is slightly different and therefore their metabolism and various other chemical processes in the body may be affected without you achieving the desired response. Tell your prescriber what has happened (i test for at least 4-6 weeks with symptom diaries to be sure of what I am telling my health professional)

Lisa Blake

Hello Kirst, thank you very much for your feedback! Does Phentermine help in attention deficit issue? Did a doctor advise you this use?
I must tell you that you have a very responsible approach to your symptoms! Well done! I also have to admit that you are absolutely right about all people having individual peculiarities and response to the same drugs. Hope, you feel better and successfully manage your condition!

Have been taking Phentermine 37.5 for a week now and I barely notice any hunger suppression. I still eat the same way. The worst thing is that evening hunger has reduced very little and I think it’s my main problem. Doctor told me I should feel no hunger or very slight one after I take phentermine. What should I do? Besides, I am not sure if I am supposed to feel so thirsty. The mouth is dry sometimes so much that I literally can’t swallow. Is it a normal thing? Hello, sorry don’t know your name, I have several solutions for your problem. One of them requires some efforts from you. I am talking about such a phenomena as habitual eating. I mean, you might not be hungry at all, or your hunger might be very weak, but you still continue eating as usually, just of habit. What you have to do is to try listening carefully to your body every time you feel like having a meal. Try to figure if you are truly hungry. Drink a glass of warm water and wait for like 5-15 minutes. See what… Read more »

Hi Lisa. I’m Andrew. Tried listening to myself, as you suggested. I think you were right. I am not always truly hungry when I eat. I will keep doing this water trick every time I feel hungry. It also helped me get on with thirst. Feeling better now, started drinking more during the day. Still, evening cravings do make me feel sad. I heard that I might get sleeping problems on Phentermine. I am not getting any. I do have some energy rise though. How can I fight the evening/night hunger?

Lisa Blake

Andrew, nice to meet you. Glad the water helped you fight the phantom hunger. Now let’s try and split your Phentermine 37.5 mg pill in two. Take one half in the morning, as you usually do, and the other half somewhere around the afternoon. Keep me posted, how it works for you. Good luck!

to all of you out there, who just started phentermine and are wondering why you still feel hungry. Been there, as well. I didn’t get a good hunger suppression until day 8 of phentermine use. But once it started working I had to force, talk myself into eating at least something. You just have to wait a little bit and let it start working. Don’t worry. If it still doesn’t, means you need something else. Best of luck to you all!

hi! 4 days on Phentermine and I woke up hungry this night. Had a sandwich. How can I stop this, or Phentermine doesn’t work for me?

Lisa Blake
Member

Hi Mandy. Try to think about how much you ate during the day and if you did drink enough water. You might mistake hunger with thirst very easily and it’s not a very good thing to immediately rush into the kitchen and have a sandwich. You always should have a glass of water near your bed. If you ever wake up in the middle of the night, sip on that water. It usually helps to tame hunger and you will go back to sleep in a couple of minutes.

Mandy_G
Guest

Hi Lisa. Problem comes and goes. At times I don’t wake up because I’m hungry, yet a couple of nights I did wake up and water helped me once. The second time I did eat a couple of cookies with tea. What am I doing wrong? I tried noting down everything I eat during the day, and I usually consume about the same amount of calories every day. 1000-1200. Is it a good amount for a day?

Lisa Blake
Member

Hello Mandy. Could you tell me what you have as your last meal of the day. This might be the problem. Usually, if you have something with high acidity, like fruit or yogurt, it might provoke even stomachache, if you have an issue with stomach acidity. How’s your weight loss progress going? How many kilos did you manage to lose?

Mandy_G
Guest

You’re right. I usually have an apple, or a kiwi a couple of hours before I go to bed. I will cut these and report in a week, if this works for me. I lost 5.7 kilos in 15 days. Not so much, but I have been eating at night, so it’s still ok for me. I am happy with Phentermine effect (besides the dry mouth, blah!)

Hello Josh. You have to give it a couple more days. Keep taking it until you get to a week’s period. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and listen to your body carefully to realize if it is real hunger, or just a habit to eat. If you still don’t get the appetite suppression in a week, I would suggest you consult your doctor. Wish you a successful weight loss!

Hello nxy, you will have to give Phentermine some time to “get in touch” with your body. Each person responds differently to Phentermine, and it takes different time to achieve the appetite suppression effect. It may not manifest from the very first day. Sometimes it onsets from day 2-3-4. You should be patient and listen carefully to your body. I am sure everything will be just fine. Good luck!

Hello desert! The thing about drinking water is not to have it all at once. Means, you should drink it in small portions throughout the entire day, to let your body work correctly with it, use it for cells functioning and help your body cleanse of toxins. The dry mouth should subside in a couple of days, so it will be easier for you to cope with it. Best of luck with your weight loss.

I just started taking phentermine. I am on day three. I take half in the morning and half in the early afternoon. I feel a great deal of energy, but I seem to feel hungrier an hour after I take it. In the evening I don’t feel hunger at all, but I am feeling discouraged that I can eat breakfast and take half a pill, but feel hungry as heck an hour later. The same happens with lunch. I read what you wrote, so I am hoping that once I have taken it for a while, my body will react… Read more »

Hello Gypsy! The food you eat for breakfast also might cause hunger, which Phentermine can’t cope with. If you eat anything really acidic, your stomach reacts with hunger quite fast. If you eat something very insignificant, this also might be the case. On the other hand, yes, you might simply give it a little time to start working. I know people who didn’t feel any hunger suppression until day 7 and 9. The main thing for you now is to concentrate on your nutrition, and use this extra energy to exercise. Best of luck on your weight loss journey, and… Read more »

Hello Nina! First of all hats off for your trainings! You are very bravo! Now to your question… you didn’t say anything about drinking water. It is an important part of the process. You see, Phentermine not only suppresses your hunger, it also enhances your metabolic rate. Add your intense trainings here (and I am not sure what you have for breakfast. You might need to make it a bit more nutritious to not feel so hungry in the middle of the day), and it might happen so that your body burns all the food very quickly. Which is great…… Read more »
