1. LEMONADE DIET, OR MASTER CLEANSE

The propagandists of this diet always bring as an example the ideal figure of Naomi Campbell.

The supermodel not only completely abandoned alcohol, meat products, sugar and other “fast” carbohydrates, but also allegedly invented her own trouble-free recipe for slenderness, which she uses on the eve of fashion shows.

The Master Cleanse program is also called Lemonade or Maple Diet. It promises a comprehensive body cleansing, as well as elimination of excess weight, up to 9 kilograms in just 10 days.

What does it imply?

All this time, it is forbidden to eat any food.
Instead of normal meals you should drink a special cocktail that consists of water and lemon juice with maple syrup and hot cayenne pepper.
If the thermonuclear mixture is not at hand, you can drink plain water, and nothing else.

Of course, if you do not eat anything for ten days, some weight (by the way, not necessarily all the promised 9 kilograms) will really go away, but you can imagine what a shock it would have to experience an unprotected mucous membrane of your stomach!

The diet also promises to:

a) cleanse your body of toxins,
b) relieve it of inflammatory processes,
c) restore hormonal balance,
d) normalize appetite and metabolism.

In return, doctors firmly promise something totally opposite: problems with the digestive system, loss of strength and guaranteed “yo-yo” effect.

2. JUICE DIET, OR JUICING

Fashion for “juicing”, or juice detox, has already covered the entire planet, and fresh juices turned into a real industry, whose turnover is measured in billions of dollars. However, this diet has about the same amount of supporters, as its convinced opponents.

Arguments "for":

Vegetable and fruit juices do not contain high-calorie fats, yet they contain many useful microelements, antioxidants and vitamins, especially if they are made of seasonal vegetables and fruits.

Supporters of the juice diet for weight loss argue that in addition to an effective cleansing of your body of toxins, it provides a sense of lightness and control over your body, as well as eliminates skin problems, insomnia and habitual headaches.

Arguments "against":

Already by the end of the first day of the diet, many feel such an acute attack of hunger that it is impossible to withstand.

The explanation is simple: fruits and some vegetables (for example, carrots, beets) contain a lot of fructose – and this “fast” sugar causes an instant burst of energy, which is inevitably followed by a sharp decline, when you feel your stomach digesting itself, you get dizzy and you have a breakdown .

Juices contain many acids that attack the unprotected mucous membrane, provoking gastritis and then stomach ulcer. The same acids and sugars corrode tooth enamel, which speeds up tooth decay.

Juices lack the necessary fiber, which helps your body get rid of cholesterol it produces. This means that its level can jump after a while, and cholesterol will begin to settle on the walls of your vessels. Another consequence of the lack of fiber is chronic constipation.

However, the cabbage menu does not provide for anything, except, in fact, the consumption of this vegetable in different varieties (green, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.), in boiled, fresh, pickled or stewed.

Fresh white cabbage is rich in vitamin C and contains only 27 kilocalories per 100 g, while pickled cabbage is even lower in calories (only 19 kcal per 100 g).
