Diets for the summer

Summer is a great opportunity to set out to weight loss and think about diets for the summer. Theoretically, you don’t feel like eating anything when it’s so hot outside. And the prospect of having to deal with the stove, creating multiple breakfast-lunch-dinner courses doesn’t sounds impressive at all.

All these seem to be correct, but for some reason, instead of losing weight in the summer, we are horrified to watch the arrow of the weights shifting to the right every day. What is going on? And the answer is simple – our nutrition in the summer is incorrect.

And it's not even about improper choice of products and unbalanced diet. It’s all about:

  • snacks “on the run”,
  • fast food,
  • ice cream,
  • lemonades,
  • beer.

How nice it is to sit on a hot day in a cozy cafe with an ice cream cone and ice-cold lemonade or a fresh burger with a pint of mesmerizing beer! Meanwhile, all these products consist of a lot of harmful substances and have a bad habit of being converted to fat. So, if you do not want your weight to rush up, give up:

  • all the unhealthy foods,
  • baked goods,
  • fried foods.

*Thus, you will greatly facilitate the life of your liver, and it will thank you “from the bottom of her heart”.

And now, let us proceed with planning summer diets and making our weight reduce. Of course, you can easily torture yourself with any kind of super-diet, which promises that you will “lose X kilograms in a week”. But, with all the effectiveness of such diets, there is one “but”:

once you decide that you have achieved the desired result, you will immediately return to your usual eating habits, and so will the kilograms that you lost.

This is explained through the fact that any weight loss diet is to some extent violence against yourself, and a lot of restrictions. Therefore, the best option is not a strict diet, but a change in your entire lifestyle to a better, healthier side. And the result will not keep you waiting!

Of course, nothing will work without a single restriction. However, these restrictions are only for good. Well, we don’t think that you will be fighting to keep consuming the so called “allowed” chemicals that you have in your fridge now, and namely:

  • preservatives,
  • dyes,
  • flavorings.

You can replace all sorts of lemonades, cola, and other fizzy drinks with delicious and healthy drinks:

  • herbal teas and infusions,
  • compotes of fresh and dried fruits.

All you need is to make a little effort (not only physical, because sometimes you need to get creative). Or, say, make cocktails:

  1. Squeeze the juice from apples (pears, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines or a mixture of fruits) and mix with a pureed banana – you will get something like a milkshake, just by far tastier and more useful.
  2. Place bananas (kiwi), apples, lemon juice and greens (parsley, dill, celery, spinach) in a blender and mix.If too thick, add still cold water.

The most simple summer diet for weight loss, which can help you kick start the weight loss process, are fasting days. You can choose any you wish of the vast variety of options, like:

  • fruit,
  • vegetable,
  • cottage cheese,
  • “hungry” (water).

They all literally shock the body. The algorithm for carrying out unloading days is simple. Once or twice a week, you eat just one product (cucumbers, watermelon, apples, cottage cheese) and drink only pure water. Not the tea, not the mineral water, only simple water.

A “hungry” fasting day is generally only water in all its manifestations during the day. Some people find it easier to spend a day at home when they are not distracted by their colleagues with eternal meetings with tea and sandwiches.

Other people, on the contrary, find it easier to spend this day at work. After all, you will not have to cook anything and fight the temptation to eat something, when the dishes seduce you with their aromas. The main thing is not to be scared yourself and not to frighten your body. Otherwise, all efforts will go to waste.

Nutrition experts have come up with a wide variety of slimming diets for the summer. Two-day diet “Minus 2”, 3-4-7-day diets, a two-week diet, which promises a loss of 7 kilograms, and many more, many different weight loss diets, from simple to exotic. Let’s take a closer look at some of them.

“MINUS 2”

This is an extreme diet for those, who did not have time to bring their waistline in shape before the vacation. You will surely lose one and a half to two kilograms. The most important is not to gain them back! The menu for each day consists of:

  • 1 lemon,
  • 4 apples,
  • 1 toast,
  • 100 g of boiled lean meat.

*The diet is a real mockery over the body. The good thing is that it’s short.

MINUS 2

“FOUR IN FOUR”

As the name implies, you will surely get rid of 4 kilos.

Day 1: You can eat any fruit in any quantity. The only exception is grapes and bananas because of their calorie content.

Day 2: Fasting day on herbal teas.

Day 3: Vegetables in any quantity. You can eat raw vegetables, or boiled, or stewed without oil.

Day 4: Fasting day on vegetable broth.

“SOUP DIET”

The basis of this diet is vegetable soup, which can and should be consumed in any quantities. Even at night at the computer or while watching your favorite TV show. In addition to soup, you can eat some other foods, as well. Better drink pure water, green tea without sugar, juices. Alcohol is banned. If you follow this diet, you can lose up to 5 kg.

The soup recipe is simple: 6 large onions, 4 large carrots, 4 medium tomatoes, 2 sweet peppers, ½ cabbage, chopped parsley root, add water to make it of the desired thicknessnot very dense, and cook for 1 hour.

Day 1: as many fruits as you wish (except bananas and grapes) and soup.

Day 2: vegetables in any form (except beans and peas) and soup.

Day 3: fruits and vegetables (except bananas and potatoes) and soup.

Day 4: 5-6 bananas, low-fat milk and soup.

Day 5: 300-400 g of animal protein (boiled beef, skinless chicken or fish) and soup.

Day 6: as much as you wish beef and vegetable salad, and soup.

Day 7: boiled rice (without oil) with a salad, vegetables, fruit, sugar-free juice, tea or coffee and soup.

CUCUMBER DIET

You are allowed to have as many cucumbers, as you wish. At that, you should exclude foods, which fall into the following categories:

  • fatty,
  • sweet,
  • smoked,
  • rich in salt.

Instead of salt, you can use soy sauce (in moderation, since it is also salty!) or sea salt (or regular coarse salt), grinded with sesame seeds at a rate of 1:1. This diet allows you to lose up to 4-5 kg ​​by “draining” the liquid (cucumber is a known diuretic, which is complemented with salt-free food).

CUCUMBER DIET

Breakfast: cucumbers with brown (ideally homemade) bread.

Lunch: 100 grams of lean boiled meat or fish, cucumber salad, seasoned with 1 tsp. of unrefined oil.

Dinner: cucumber salad.

“SALAD DIET” (two-week)

By keeping to this diet, you can part with 7 kg of excess weight, and eat plenty of vitamins at the same time. During the diet, you can drink green tea without sugar, herbal infusions or water with lemon, or simply pure water.

Week 1

Breakfast: half an hour before the meal, drink a glass of water with lemon. Fruit salad dressed with 1% yogurt.

Lunch: vegetable salad made of any ingredients, except potatoes, seasoned with lemon juice or 1 tsp. olive oil.

Dinner: vegetable salad.

*During the day, you can have 1 liter of low-fat natural yogurt.

Week 2

The menu is the same, except that this week you need to add 100 grams of lean boiled meat without salt to your lunch.

So, these are some of the slimming diets for the summer. Choose the one that you like the most. Still, as we all know, losing weight is much easier, than keeping the positions. Very often, kilograms come back, and even take a couple of new fellows with them.

Therefore, any honest nutritionist will tell you that diet is not the aspect that you need to choose. If you want to change your figure for the better and forever, you need to change your lifestyle. Yes, yes, those calls to lead a healthy lifestyle are not an empty phrase.

In fact, you don’t have to sacrifice that much to adjust your diet, improve your health (and a healthy body is a slender body, you can not argue with that!). After all, fat is essentially a preservative for those toxins and wastes in our body that have settled in it because of our disregard for food.

Our fridges are always full of

  • mayonnaises that contain no eggs,
  • ketchups with starch,
  • semi-finished meat products made of who knows what,
  • yogurts with a 6-month shelf life,
  • other “goodies”, stuffed with God knows what.

And the most terrible thing about all these chemicals is that you get addicted to them as if to a drug. Therefore, the rejection of all harmful products and the transition to a normal, balanced, proper nutrition is often accompanied with a real withdrawal syndrome, which many people are simply incapable of enduring.

The most extreme way to lose weight over the summer can be called raw food diet. The raw foodists eat all those foods that you do not need to cook with fire. That is,

  • vegetables, fruits, berries,
  • nuts, cereals (soaked, sprouted),
  • honey, carob (chocolate substitute),
  • sunflower seeds, dried fruits,
  • dried seaweed, unrefined vegetable oil…

Instead of animal milk, raw foodists make milk of almonds, coconut and other nuts. It is a very nutritious product, known since ancient times. Almond milk, for example, is rich in vitamin E, B vitamins, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc, copper, and manganese.

Soak 1 cup of almonds for the night. Grind in a blender until the mushy mass, slowly add 2.5 cups of water. Strain the resulting milk through gauze, add 2-3 tsp. honey. You can drink this milk as is, or you can blend it with any berries and get a wonderful cocktail. The cake, left over after the milk preparation, can be used to make sweets, season salad or pastries.

Remove coconut from the shell, pour liquid into a separate cup, take off the brown peel. Grate, add to a blender, add liquid from the coconut, some water (depending on the desired consistency), and blend. You can squeeze out the flesh or leave it in, as you wish. Add seeds, banana or anything to taste.

Gazpacho

This soup is also called the “liquid salad”. It can become a good alternative to any other cold soup that you like.

Ingredients:

  • 300-400 g of dried white bread
  • 5 kg of tomatoes
  • 500 g of cucumbers
  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 150 ml of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp.lemon juice
  • 1 celery stalk
  • a few cloves of garlic (to taste)
  • pinch of coriander

How to cook:

  1. Cut bread into small cubes and place into plates.Peel the tomatoes, cut them, put into a blender and puree until smooth. Deseed the pepper, peel the cucumbers, and puree these into the blender together with garlic and onions.
  2. Combine with tomato puree, add coriander, olive oil and lemon juice, whilst continuing.Cool the ready gazpacho soup in the fridge for an hour. When serving, sprinkle with bread cubes and chopped celery.

First, you need to prepare the wheat leaven starter: mix 400 ml of clean water with 100 grams of germinated wheat and leave for 24-48 hours until the air bubbles appear, as in soda. To taste, the liquid must be tart, but without putrefactive odor. You can also drink it as a healthy alternative to carbonated drinks.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of cashew nuts
  • 100 ml of wheat leaven starter

How to cook:

  1. Cover nuts with simple and leave them sit for a night.In the morning, drain the remaining water, place the nuts in a blender, pour over the leaven and blend to the state of pasty mass.
  2. In this mass, you can add a pinch of sea salt, herbs, spices to taste.Cover the strainer with gauze, lay out the resulting mass, leave for a day in a warm place. You can use the resulting product to form cheese and keep it in the fridge. Serve with cereal bread.

*Raw dishes are delicious and nutritious, but, perhaps, they are best at making sweets.

Bonbons with nuts

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of almonds
  • ½ cup of walnuts
  • ¾ cup of figs
  • ¾ cup ofdates
  • ½ cup of coconut flakes
  • ¼ tspof ground ginger
  • ¼ tspof ground cinnamon

How to cook:

  1. Soak the almonds, and then peel them.Place the dried fruit, half the coconut flakes and walnuts in a blender and grind until smooth.
  2. Divide the resulting dough into the number of pieces, equal to the number of almonds. Form balls out of it, press the almonds inside and roll in coconut flakes.

Soak the buckwheat for the night. Grind, add honey and walnuts – this is the basis.

You can eat it as is, or you can add crushed poppies, sesame, dried fruits, coconut flakes, any nuts, seeds, carob (thus, you get “chocolate” halva). Place in a container, keep in the fridge.

Mix 2 cups of ground sunflower seeds, 1 cup of ground poppy, 1 cup of ground sesame seeds, add honey, and place in a container.

As you can see, everything comes down to fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts. Effective summer diets for weight loss must necessarily provide for large amounts of plant elements and a minimum of animal products.
